Cosmetic Crate

General#

The Cosmetic Crate is the one crate that exists only to hand out cosmetics, and it is the most reliable way to get them. It lives in the lobby, not on a game server, so it is there the moment you connect and before you pick where to play.

There is no reward table to read. Every key gives you a cosmetic. The only question is which one.

Getting Keys#

Cosmetic Keys are bought in game: 200 Omnicoin each from the Omnishop in the lobby. There is no key pack on the web store, so Omnicoin is the thing you buy and the crate is what you spend it on. The buttons at the top of this page are the two smallest bundles: 500 Omnicoin is two keys, 1,000 is five.

Nothing here needs paying for. Omnicoin is earned as well as bought, and the same 200 comes out of either: voting pays 3 per site plus 10 for a full set each day, referrals pay up to 700 for a friend who stays, and leaderboards pay out every season.

What You Get#

One cosmetic, drawn at random from every cosmetic you do not already own. Two things follow from that, and they are the whole point of the crate:

• No duplicates. A cosmetic you already have cannot come up, so a key is never wasted on something you own.
• The pool shrinks as you collect. Each unlock removes itself from the draw, so what is left gets likelier every time.

The draw is weighted by rarity. Common cosmetics come up more often than rare ones, and a name highlight, a tag or a trail can come out of any key: the crate does not roll a type first.

When You Own Everything#

Once there is nothing left for the crate to give you, it stops taking keys: the key goes back in your inventory and the crate tells you that you already have every cosmetic. You cannot spend a key on nothing.
