Preferences
General#
Open your settings with /preferences. Every change saves to your account rather than the server you happen to be standing on, so turning something off on Skyblock has it off when you join Survival.
The menu is split into tabs along the top. A tab only appears when you have at least one preference in it, so the Perks tab fills out as your rank grows and may not be there at all on a default rank.
Chat Tab#
| Preference | What It Does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Speaking Channel | The channel your messages go to. Click to cycle through the ones you can talk in. | Server |
| Global Chat | Show messages from the network-wide channel. | On |
| Server Chat | Show chat from players on your current server. | On |
| Island Chat | Show messages from your island's channel. | On |
Turning off every visibility toggle means you see no player chat at all. It is a valid choice and it catches people out, so the menu warns you on the Server Chat tile.
Speaking Channel only lists channels you can actually talk in. If you leave an island, your speaking channel drops back to Server rather than leaving you talking into nothing. See chat channels for what each one reaches.
General Tab#
| Preference | What It Does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Announcements | Show server announcement broadcasts. | On |
| Welcome Messages | Show a message when a new player joins. | On |
| Vote Announcements | Show announcements when players vote. | On |
| Confirm Item Drop | Ask for confirmation before you drop an item. | Off |
Perks Tab#
These come with rank. A tile you do not have the rank for is not shown at all rather than greyed out.
| Preference | What It Does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Drop Items to Inventory | Put dropped items back in your inventory when there is space. | Off |
| Fly | Keep flight on as you move between servers. | Off |
| God Mode | Keep god mode on as you move between servers. | Off |
Fly and God Mode are the reason the perks live here rather than in a per-server command: the setting follows you, so you do not re-enable them every time you switch server.
Friends And Ignored Players#
Two more tabs sit alongside the preference tabs, and they hold lists rather than toggles:
- Friends shows your requests, your friends, and the requests you have sent, as heads you can click. See the friends list.
- Ignored Players lists everyone you are ignoring, and clicking one removes the ignore. See the ignore list.
