Mob Stacking
General#
To keep even the biggest farms running smoothly, nearby mobs, spawners, and dropped items automatically merge into stacks - a single entity with a floating hologram showing its count, like Zombie (x1,500).
Killing a stacked mob removes it from the stack one at a time (loot and XP included), so farms work exactly as you'd expect - just without hundreds of entities grinding the server.
Stack Limits#
| Stack Type | Max Size | Merge Range |
|---|---|---|
| Naturally spawned mobs | 5,000 | 5 blocks |
| Spawner mobs | 20,000 | 10 blocks |
| Spawners | 64 | - |
| Dropped items | 5,000 | 5 blocks |
Spawner Stacking#
Spawners of the same type stack together up to 64 in one block. A stacked spawner spawns proportionally more mobs, so a maxed stack behaves like 64 spawners in one - pair it with a Chunk Hopper and your farm runs itself.
