Nail Bat

General#

The Nail Bat is the floor of the weapon pool. Three damage a swing and only 15 durability makes it the worst weapon you can hold, and it is by a wide margin the most likely thing to come out of an ordinary chest's weapon roll.

It is also 50 gold in the shop, which makes it the cheapest weapon in the game and a reasonable filler purchase when you are saving for something else.

Stats#

Stat Value
Damage 3 per swing
Durability 15 hits
Barricade damage 0

Only hits on zombies consume durability. Swinging at blocks and barricades is free, though melee weapons do no barricade damage either way.

Getting One#

By far the most common weapon in ordinary chests, at nearly a third of that category. Craftable from 2 Sticks and 1 Scrap Metal, and sold in the Item Shop for 50 gold.

Chance within the weapon category of each chest tier:

Common Chest Rare Chest Legendary Chest
31.5% 17.6% 5.3%

Modifications#

Bought in the lobby with parts, at the Upgrades NPC or with /upgrades. Tiers must be bought in order. See Weapon Upgrades for how parts are collected.

Total parts to max every line on this weapon:

Upgrading a Nail Bat is rarely the right call while better weapons exist, but it is the melee weapon you are most likely to be holding, so a couple of cheap Sharpened tiers pay off more often than the numbers suggest.
