Desert Eagle

General#

The Desert Eagle is perfectly accurate and hits for 5 a round, which is respectable for a sidearm. It is also the only gun in the game you can reliably start a round holding, since it is a shop item rather than a loot drop.

Be aware of the comparison, though: the SW .44 Magnum uses the same scarce ammunition and deals nearly twice the damage per shot. The Desert Eagle's advantage is that you can guarantee having one.

Stats#

Stat Value
Class Magnum
Ammunition .44 Mag Rounds
Damage 5 per projectile
Magazine 7
Rate of fire 86 rounds/min
Reload 2.5 seconds (per shell)
Starting ammo 2 of 7
Accuracy Perfect, no spread
Scoped No
Barricade damage 4

Like the SW .44 Magnum, it reloads one round at a time.

Getting One#

Not found in chests. The Desert Eagle is sold in the Item Shop for 100 gold and requires Gold rank. There is no recipe for it.

2 5 of 7 14 Metal Components, 7 Plastic Components, 3 Rubber Parts
3 6 of 7 19 Metal Components, 10 Plastic Components, 5 Rubber Parts

Precision Sights#

Tier Spread Cost
Stock Perfect, no spread
1 No effect 9 Metal Components, 3 Adhesive, 2 Weapon Mods
2 No effect 17 Metal Components, 9 Plastic Components, 5 Adhesive, 3 Weapon Mods
3 No effect 24 Metal Components, 12 Plastic Components, 6 Adhesive, 5 Weapon Mods
4 No effect 30 Metal Components, 15 Plastic Components, 9 Adhesive, 7 Weapon Mods

This weapon has no spread to begin with, so the Precision Sights line does nothing measurable. It still costs Weapon Mods, the rarest part in the game. Spend them on High Powered or Quick Fire instead.

Fully Upgraded#

Stat Stock Maxed
Damage 5 6.1
Magazine 7 12
Reload 2.5s 1.62s
Rate of fire 86 rounds/min 122 rounds/min
Starting ammo 2 of 7 7 of 7

Total parts to max every line on this weapon:

Part Total
Metal Components 405
Plastic Components 228
Rubber Parts 105
Adhesive 62
Weapon Mods 37

Since you buy this one deliberately rather than finding it, upgrading it is more reliably worthwhile than upgrading a gun you may never see. The limit remains ammunition: .44 Mag has no recipe, so a maxed Desert Eagle still depends on what the map gives you.
